Team Overview - Week 19

Week 19, Meeting 1:
Date: 13/10/2010
Time: 09:00am until 09:20am
Staff present: Andrew Williams, Amanda Dewhurst
Location: C2 – 08

Unfortunately, many team members were absent today due to a mix up of the meetings times and also due to one team member falling ill. Fortunately, one team member did attend and discussed with lecturers the current status of the team, the group and individual blogs and also the work required for the following week.

The team also met up later on in the day to discuss level building, urgent work that needs completing and also to prepare for the meeting with Brian and Phil the following day.

Items addressed:
i. Work Completed.
ii. Team and Individual Blogs.
iii. Final Team Project Report.

Week 19, Meeting 2:
Date: 14/10/2010

Time: 02:30pm until 03:00pm
Staff present: Brian Morris, Phil Carlisle
Location: C2 – 08

In the teams second meeting this week, discussion with Brian and Phil was made regarding our grade from the Milestone II presentation and the dates and contents of future presentations.

We all came to the agreement that switching the testing and final build presentations around would be a far more effective method of gaining useful feedback than the reverse. This is because ideally we wish to discuss our testing methods with lecturers before the testing itself takes place.

Items addressed:
i. Milestone II Presentation.
ii. Future Presentations.

Who are we?

Team Fable is a group of five students working on their 'Level 3 Team Project' at the University of Bolton.

All posts and work uploaded to this blog will be monitored by assessors and all content will count towards the teams final mark.

What is our aim?

Our project aim is to research the usage of non-playable characters in games and investigate what drives player reactions to them.

By researching into this, we hope to evolve storytelling in games by defining the characteristics players find most compelling in NPCs, ultimately leaving with more engaging characters.

What are our roles?

The team roles are as follows:

Kyle Cherry - Research & Documentation.
Lee Sparkes - Human Resources.
Lewis Morgan - Level Design Lead.
Adam Parker - Art Design Lead.
Stephen Austin - Testing Lead.

Despite having specific lead roles, all members in the group will contribute to all areas of the project.
