Items addressed:
i. Milestone III Presentation.
ii. Feedback.

Week 22, Meeting 2:
Date: 04/11/2010

Time: 02:30pm until 03:00pm
Staff present: Brian Morris, Phil Carlisle
Location: C2 – 08

The meeting with Brian and Phil this week hosted our Milestone III presentation. The presentation allowed us to give a quick overview of the project so far and also acted as a simplified version of our testing plan.

Brian and Phil both seemed pleased and had plenty of advice to give and questions to ask. Phil mentioned re-considering recording candidates via web-cameras while Brian spoke about our test ethics and observation techniques. We were also questioned in regards to our pre and post-test questionnaires, with Phil recommending we search online for existing studies that include similar questionnaires to what we will be using.

The team is happy with how our presentation went and is now working hard in preparation for the testing level demonstration next Thursday.

Who are we?

Team Fable is a group of five students working on their 'Level 3 Team Project' at the University of Bolton.

All posts and work uploaded to this blog will be monitored by assessors and all content will count towards the teams final mark.

What is our aim?

Our project aim is to research the usage of non-playable characters in games and investigate what drives player reactions to them.

By researching into this, we hope to evolve storytelling in games by defining the characteristics players find most compelling in NPCs, ultimately leaving with more engaging characters.

What are our roles?

The team roles are as follows:

Kyle Cherry - Research & Documentation.
Lee Sparkes - Human Resources.
Lewis Morgan - Level Design Lead.
Adam Parker - Art Design Lead.
Stephen Austin - Testing Lead.

Despite having specific lead roles, all members in the group will contribute to all areas of the project.
