Team Overview - Week 14 and Week 15

Week 14, Meeting 1:
Date: 11/05/2010
Time: 12:00pm until 12:10pm
Staff present: Andrew Williams
Location: C2 – 04a

As Claire and Amanda are absent for both week fourteen and fifteen, the team met up with Andrew Williams to discuss work completed on the project so far. This first meeting saw team members giving Andrew a quick synopsis on the project, with further discussion on what are planning on testing, how and all of the work completed thus far. A very positive response was given with encouragement to continue working over the summer period.

Week 15, Meeting 1:
Date: 18/05/2010
Time: 12:00pm until 12:10pm

Location: C2 – 04a

The teams final meeting with Andrew Williams had much discussion regarding consistency in our test and how we were going to manage the project throughout the summer period. Discussion into the 'themes' of our environment were made, with the team considering 'cleaning up' textures from existing Source games for use in our test.

Week 14, Meeting 2:
Date: 14/05/2010

Time: 01:00pm until 01:20pm
Staff present: Brian Morris, Phil Carlisle
Location: C2 – 04a

With several team members absent, this weeks meeting with Brian and Phil was shorter than usual. Discussion into the work completed so far and the structure and roles of the team were made.

Week 15, Meeting 2:
Date: 21/05/2010

Time: 01:00pm until 01:30pm
Staff present: Brian Morris, Phil Carlisle
Location: C2 – 04a

The meeting this week had the team discussing a number of things, primarily milestone deadlines and the work plan for summer. A milestone 2 update was made, with the presentation deadline being set for the second week back in October.

Who are we?

Team Fable is a group of five students working on their 'Level 3 Team Project' at the University of Bolton.

All posts and work uploaded to this blog will be monitored by assessors and all content will count towards the teams final mark.

What is our aim?

Our project aim is to research the usage of non-playable characters in games and investigate what drives player reactions to them.

By researching into this, we hope to evolve storytelling in games by defining the characteristics players find most compelling in NPCs, ultimately leaving with more engaging characters.

What are our roles?

The team roles are as follows:

Kyle Cherry - Research & Documentation.
Lee Sparkes - Human Resources.
Lewis Morgan - Level Design Lead.
Adam Parker - Art Design Lead.
Stephen Austin - Testing Lead.

Despite having specific lead roles, all members in the group will contribute to all areas of the project.
