Team Overview - Week 27

Week 27, Meeting 1:
Date: 08/12/2010

To allow more time for our data analysis, Andrew and Amanda cancelled the meeting this week while team members spent time working in C2-03. The Wednesday meetings are currently scheduled to return next week, with team members showing off an example of our group report work before the three week Christmas break.

Week 27, Meeting 2:
Date: 09/12/2010
Time: 02:30pm until 03:00pm
Staff present: Brian Morris, Phil Carlisle
Location: C2 – 08

In the meeting with Brian and Phil this week, the team performed the fifth and final milestone presentation.

The presentation itself was performed professionally, with team members meeting up before-hand to discuss what needs to be said and who plans on saying it. Included in the slide-show was a summary of the project, an analysis of our test process (including the questionnaires), an analysis of our collected data and also a short project conclusion. Brian and Phil seemed generally happy with the performance and had some good feedback to give after the teams twenty minute performance was over.

As we do not necessarily need any feedback from Brian and Phil next week, team members have agreed with both lecturers to postpone the meeting until after Christmas. Our next meeting with both Brian and Phil will commence on the afternoon of the 13th of January 2011.

Items addressed:
i. Milestone V Presentation.
ii. Feedback.
iii. Christmas Break.

Who are we?

Team Fable is a group of five students working on their 'Level 3 Team Project' at the University of Bolton.

All posts and work uploaded to this blog will be monitored by assessors and all content will count towards the teams final mark.

What is our aim?

Our project aim is to research the usage of non-playable characters in games and investigate what drives player reactions to them.

By researching into this, we hope to evolve storytelling in games by defining the characteristics players find most compelling in NPCs, ultimately leaving with more engaging characters.

What are our roles?

The team roles are as follows:

Kyle Cherry - Research & Documentation.
Lee Sparkes - Human Resources.
Lewis Morgan - Level Design Lead.
Adam Parker - Art Design Lead.
Stephen Austin - Testing Lead.

Despite having specific lead roles, all members in the group will contribute to all areas of the project.
